NYC’s Stop Sexual Harassment Act Notice

As we previously reported, on May 9, 2018, New York City Mayor DeBlasio signed the Stop Sexual Harassment in New York City Act (the “Act”). Pursuant to the Act, effective September 6, 2018, all New York City employers will be required to provide written notice of employees’ rights under the New York City Human Rights Law, which protects all individuals against discrimination based on gender, including sexual harassment in the workplace, in housing, and in public accommodations like stores and restaurants. Employers must conspicuously display this notice in the form of an anti-sexual harassment rights and responsibilities poster and distribute an information sheet to individual employees at the time of hire. The following document posted on the website of the New York City Commission on Human Rights, satisfies the poster/information sheet requirement and may be used by New York City employers.
